Analysis of the relationship between persuasion and argumentation. The author introduces a `persuasion relation', which is not a constituent part of either the argumentative text of the argumentative context, but rather is generated out of their contradictory relation, i.e. the relation of agreement and disagreement. The effect of persuasion then is the result of a felicitous choice of an argumentative text within the specific context.
