Discussion about the distinction between inductive and deductive arguments. Two aspects are touched on: (a) whether to state the distinction in terms of the actual strength of the reasoning, or in terms of someone's assessment of the strength of the reasoning; and (b) whether to state that distinction in terms of probability and necessity, or in terms of evidential support.
