Annotation

H. analyses an instance of face-to-face intercultural interaction (between a Turkish immigrant worker and a German beggar, in a West German town), focusing on the role of pretexts to categorical knowledge attached to particular categories of people, or to preconscious `incorporations' of the social order, expressed through a particular class-specific `habitus' formatting individual behavior always as class behavior.
