Annotation
Analysis of the role of deixis in argumentative discourse.
The author aims to show how a line of argumentation can be shaped by the deictic anchoring of discourse participants. On the one hand, the deictic dimensions of person, place and time and theirpossible impact on the argumentation process are taken into account; on the other hand, three more types of deixis are considered: Fillmorian categories of discourse and social deixis, and Lakoff's emotional deixis.
