Starting from the dichotomy between pronominal and nominal discourse anaphors, M. concentrates upon the semantic and pragmatic functions of nominal anaphors in discourse. The purpose of the study is to develop a view on and an analysis of nominal anaphors in which their contribution to the coherence of discourse is accounted for.
