Ö. presents some preliminary results of an experiment on the interaction of prosody and pragmatic particles in Solf Swedish, showing how their tasks are differently distributed for pragmatic purposes. E.g. prosody plays a secondary role with respect to modality, but a primary role in transmitting involvement and attitudes, whereas both cooperate in providing cues regarding politeness.
