Starting from the perspective that sees morality as emergent from, and expressed and negotiated in communicative action, P. studies interaction in two types of Australian courts. A complex picture of conversational dynamics emerges, centered around two very different games (the fact game and the face game) and two moral orders (those of justice and honor) that are incommensurate.
