On the strategies involved in producing and understanding relative clauses. Arguments are offered in support of one theory about the nature of strategies, and some experimental investigations dealing with the role of strategies are presented. There are chapters on cognitive strategies in general, on relative acceptability judgements, on comprehension and production, on the text dimension, and on a comparison with some other languages (esp. Japanese, Korean and Ukrainian).
