Annotation

An attempt to analyse humor on the basis of a script-based semantic theory. The aim is to find out what makes a text funny, and how a joke is recognized as such. One central notion is that of `deliberate ambiguity'. Three subtypes of humor are discussedin detail: sexual, ethnic, and political humor.
