Annotation
A study of the relationship between illocutionary force or speech function of an utterance and its linguistic realization. It is argued that lexicogrammatical and prozodic realizations do not directly or indirectly determine speech function but relate speech acts to their contexts by attending to aspects of the performance of the act itself.
