Discussion about the relationship between reason or rationality and the theory of argument. The author gives an overview of traditional and contemporary approaches to the concept of rationality, and then discusses more in detail the current perspective which places the norms of rationality within the community that defines large semantic or pragmatic aspects of the information situation.
