Analysis of points of view in nuclear arms discourse. In order to grasp the differences between viewpoints, W. proposes the notion of 'perspective', which describes a specific way of thinking and speaking about the nuclear arms issue. Perspectives consist of `frames of representation' combined with `modes of discourse'. The model is applied to the differences in point of view between American and Russian nuclear discourse.
