Analysis of the phenomenon of `semantic curtailment' of narrative discourse, i.e. instances of narrative discourse where some passage or information is left out by the speaker, as a result of the pursuit of some personal goal such as protecting one's privacy, etc ... The author proposes a frame of analysis capable of accounting for such phenomena.
