Analysis of the relationship between psychoanalytic treatment and rhetorics. The author first describes the situation of psychoanalytic treatment, with the different roles of patient and analyst, and then discusses the central role of the theory of the three kinds of oratory in the rhetorical system and the applicability of this division within a psychoanalytic framework.
