Annotation

An attempt to specify what should be understood by the notion of context as used for explaining language understanding. The concept of 'intrinsic context' is proposed as the common ground of knowledge, beliefs, and suppositions that the speaker and listener believe holds between them. Evidence for this proposal is reviewed.
