P. offers an analysis of Dutch sentences with a verbal group in final position that consists of a finite form of `hebben' (have) or `zijn' (be) and a past participle, with either the finite preceding the participle (the `red' order) or vice versa (the `green' order). A new descriptive method is introduced which establishes a link between word order and interpretation.
