This volume presents the results of a 1986 Parisian Conference on discursive orderings and their systems of representation. The papers in the first part present various epistemological perspectives on discourse and text, whilst those in the second deal with concrete linguistic phenomena like anaphora, connectors, the zero article, aspect, modal utterances and inference.
