Annotation

This volume revisits and reassesses the basic themes of Eco's semiotics. Whilst the core themes of meaning and (limited versus unlimited) interpretation constitute a general theoretical framework, fictional (esp. 'impossible')-world semantics are further explored and 'closed' text structures, concerning popular literature and its ideological exploitation, are demonstrated to affect 'high' literature as well.
