Examining animal metaphors -related to the Celtic heroic ideal- in the Canu Aneirin, a poetic compilation representing pre-Norman British literary tradition, R. especially aims at a better comprehension of the CA's narrative and discourse structure. Advocating an interactionist view, R. argues that the recurrent animal metaphors act as coherence and cohesion markers in the overall text structure.
