Opting for a 'constructivist' conception of modern sciences, B. argues that knowledge is neither an adjustment to an existing reality or a copy of ideal models, but the outcome of a production and a construction of concepts, images, interpretative patterns and syntaxes, whilst scientific activity as discourse, claiming objectivity, is said to be dependent on a number of other fields, thus opening up phenomenological, ontological and ethical perspectives.
