Annotation
This paper examines simultaneity in terms of its execution as affiliative or disaffiliative intervention and relates it to gender. The two sexes then seem to use intrusion in very different ways, women primarily as a means of agreement, support, or ratification and men indiscriminately in agreement and disagreement with the current speaker or topic. Women appear to be both more support or agreement-prone and more interruptible than men.
