J. recommends more research in sociolinguistic deviance in the foreign language situation, besides error analysis and interlanguage studies, because of its theoretical applications, pertaining to sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic and sociopsychological systems, and its practical applications, pertaining to the actual foreign language teaching situation.
