In this original work on Russian verbal aspect , aspect is considered as a linguistic manifestation of universal mental models, formed prior to the acquisition of tense systems. Besides his own mental model, D. provides a survey of verb classification in Western and Russian traditions and of Russian verbal aspect theories.
