This paper shows how the introduction of argumentative features in the text generation process allows: 1. to account for hitherto unadressed linguistic decisions such as the selection of scalar adjectives, judgment determiners, connotative verbs and connectives; 2: to select appropriate information to satisfy a persuasive goal; and 3: them to serve as the unifying representation level and as link between the generator's conceptual and linguistic components.
