This book examines the extent to which the perception of musical structure can be described according the lines of Lerdahl and Jackendoffs' generative model, and generates questions regarding musical meanings as determined by feelings and emotions, though these remain subsidiary to the main issue, the perception and recall of pitch-associated phenomena.
