Annotation

The analysis of gender differences in minimal responses in both intra- and inter-group interactions, shows that women generally use more minimal responses in same sex pairs than men. Both sexes however use more of the agreement type of minimal responses as opposed to the facilitative or cooperative type and participants in the mixed pairs altered their use of minimal responses in a way as to converge at a central point.
