The central theoretical idea in this contribution to cognitive linguistics is that of a dia- and synchronical metaphorical transfer of form/meaning between differently functional semantic domains, from one 'concrete' domain, the sociophysical real world, to two 'abstract' domains, the mental and the speech act domain.
