As impoliteness plays a key role in some contexts -such as army training and literary drama-, this paper attempts to provide a descriptive impoliteness framework, parallel but opposite to Brown and Levinson's theory. It focuses on inherent and mock impoliteness, and discusses associated contextual factors.
