This paper examines and discusses the connective, epistemic and combined connective-epistemic uses of the Spanish discourse marker O SEA, and relates these findings to general theories on discourse markers (such as Fraser's), suggesting areas of further research. Epistemic uses mark speakers' degree of commitment toward their utterances, epstemic uses guide listeners to a correct semantic interpretation between propositions.
