Annotation

This review of Odense transcripts of conversations in English between a Dane and a German, suggests that 'off' is used somewhat independent of pronunciational details, as a benign stereotype in the case of the Dane, capturing something the Dane tends to do, and as a malignant stereotype in the case of the German, as it misrepresents what the German does.
