Annotation
Via the analysis of 'lingua franca' English management talk, involving only nonnative speakers, this study shows how conversation analytic (CA) methodology is able to account for the sequential and social construction of such interactions, whilst a consideration of the data itself illucidates some CA working assumptions and methods. This article also documents some methods of doing interactional/discursive work to give talk a normal appearance in the face of abnormal linguistic behavior.
