Annotation

This paper examines similarities and differences in the use of three markers of completive aspect: The Korean auxiliary constructions 'V-a/e pelita' and 'V-ko malta' and the Japanese completive marker 'V-te shimau'. It is shown that Korean and Japanese can pattern quite differently, especially with regard to the perception and expression of processes and situations that lead to the completion of a particular event.
