Annotation

Examining some cognitive-related aspects of the performance and interpretation of indirect directive speech acts, this study proposes: 1. to describe speech act categories in terms of propositional ICMs, including Panther and Thornburg's scenarios and other necessary interpretive devices, related to interactional aspects; and 2. To add other conceptual constructs such as metaphors and image-schema's to Panther and Thornburg's proposed metonymic operation on propositional ICM's in explaining the performance of indirect directives.
