Reconsidering the basis of an earlier account of the utterance interpretation of AND EVERYTHING (Ward and Birner, 1993), this study emphasizes the metapragmatic function of this expression as an intensifier related to intersubjectivity and extends the analysis to account for the related expression AND ALL THAT as well.
