This paper deals with two unsuccessful recent Polish attempts to refute Gettier's destructive argument against the traditional doctrine of knowledge of the epistemic verb KNOW THAT with its three-component definition. The author contends that Gettier's valid critique contributes to a correct understanding of 'KNOW THAT', i.e. as the most fundamental semantic prime.
