Annotation

It is argued that camp citationality, resulting in a conception of the utterance as echoic and ironic, allows particular gay solidarity and problematizes the distinction between 'authentic' and 'represented' utterance itself. The feature of citationality appears to be manifested in three ways: as citations of a notion of femininity; as citations of the language medium itself; and as citations of pre-existing texts and artefacts.
