Annotation

This study illustrates the interpretation of yes/no questions as reversed polarity questions with an example of yes/no questions used by teachers in problem-solving sequences in academic second language writing courses. It is demonstrated that this interpretation doesn't solely depend on the question design, but also on the actions the questions need to perform and on the displayed knowledge state from which they are asked.
