This book discusses language attitudes, language maintenance and loss, language planning and policy and their interrelations. It empirically investigates Welsh youth's attitudes toward Welsh and Welsh-English bilingualism, arguing that language attitudes are not static phenomena and that an individualistic approach should be complemented by a more societal orientation.
