This analysis of Hebrew-English bilingual conversation serves to illustrate the strategy of language alternation at discourse markers. The switched discourse markers are classified according to Becker's approach to context (1988b), and then related to the clustering of discourse markers at discourse unit boundaries in bi- and monolingual discourse. Crosslinguistic differences in discourse markers are related to metalanguage theory.
