Annotation

The most important issue dealt with in this volume is the recognition of the importance of retracing the different external histories of Afro-American communities, which enables to amend or contradict earlier theories of Afro-American 'pidgin-to-creole' evolution and adds to the importance of lexical and even phonological studies.
