Annotation
The first part of this sociolinguistic research on socially situated meaning reviews a number of approaches, such as French and American schools of thought. In the second part of the book B. presents her methodological treatment of linguistic variation -in the language of the workplace-, consisting in a distributional analysis that aims at illuminating some dimensions of socially constructed meaning via the description of linguistic forms in their broadest diversity, with no separation of form and content.
