The 11 chapters of this volume are organized into three sections, respectively dealing with ethnolinguistic identity, gender identity and writer/audience relations. The first section contains studies on English variety, Black, Jewish and Hispanic populations and mixed international student populations with focus on Mandarin-speaking individuals. The second section only deals with English-speaking populations, and the third considers very young, young adult and Black populations.
