This study on pragmatic directions on language use in adult-child interaction in order to enable children to assign meaning to words and relations between them, identifies common offer-types adults use to introduce unfamiliar words and describes the main relations between words that they explicate for young children, via connections such as 'is part of, belongs to, is used for'.
