This book contributes to our knowledge of how languages are invented, constructed and negotiated in historical contexts that also offer a parallel construction of multiple public spheres. These public spheres can be conceived as face-to-face interacting human groups, as (re)contextualized interested voices, as textual spaces and as logics or strategies for power legitimation or imagination of subjectivity forms.
