This comparative study of Austrian and UK left-wing political unemployment discourses, shows both their local accents and their common links with EU-level policies. In Austria, there is a greater emphasis on political-cum-ideological issues, whilst in the UK economic issues and 'moral underclass' discourse receive more attention.
