An attempt to reveal some general features of racist discourse, on the basis of an analysis of the properties of prejudiced talk among members of a social majority group concerning minority groups. The examples are taken from interviews with Amsterdam citizens about immigrant workers from Morocco and Turkey, and black citizens from Surinam.
