Annotation

This contrastive study examines pragmatic similarities and differences in the use of conventional indirect requests in Urugayan and Peninsular Spanish. Both reveal the same correlation between indirectness and social distance but differ in tentativeness of requests (more frequent in Urugayan Spanish).
