This paper contends that the Chomskyan linguistic paradigm has been superseded and argues for a linguistic theory that is philosophically rooted in interrelatedness. The DANCE OF SHIVA is adopted as a useful metaphor and the clause-relational analysis is identified as an interesting approach to linguistic theory which is already significant for applied linguistics.
