Annotation

This paper discusses the results of a study of the relationship between premodified and interactionally modified oral input and second language vocabulary acquisition in Japanese High School students. These findings indicate: that word meaning acquisition is faster with the premodified input, but wider with the interactionally modified input; that frequency is the best predictor of word meaning acquisition; and that overelaborated modified input negatively influences meaning acquisition.
