This reply to Blommaerts' critique on the author's book 'Linguistic genocide in education-or worldwide diversity and human wrights ?', proposes to indicate some major points of misinformation and to discuss differing opinions on paradigmatic issues, such as the opposed views of considering language death as inevitable and considering it partially as a result of linguistic genocide, which researchers might help to counteract.
